Promoting healthy mental state and continuity of education to children and adolescents

Who We Are

Live in Love Community Service was founded in 2014 and is located in Hampton Roads, Virginia. We are a Community Mental Health Agency Intensive In-Home Counseling Services for at-risk children and adolescents.

Live in Love Community Service began when the founder, Terah Thomas, worked within the Public School System and saw the need to mentor sixth-grade girls due to the level of social conflict. The JEWEL Female Program was birthed and served as an after school program on Tuesdays. From the mentoring program, Live in Love Community Service began to reach abroad and target other needs in the community through our Annual $1,000 Scholarship for high school graduating mothers, community service, and more.

In 2018, Live in Love Community Service began to provide residential services for adults with developmental disabilities at the Adult Group Home.

Currently, Live in Love Community Service is a Community Mental Health Agency offering Intensive In-Home Counseling Services to at-risk children and adolescents.

Live in Love Community Service is licensed through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, and is affiliated with a Local Human Rights Committee.

The Founder

  • woman smiling
    • To Live in Love is to live in patience and kindness.
    • To Live in Love is to love yourself enough to reach your fullest potential.
    • To Live in Love is to forgive and lighten your load.

It’s treating others how you would want to be treated. God is Love.

Live in Love continues to impact the community by providing intensive in-home counseling services to at-risk youth and adolescents.

Terah plans to continue to assist and support young mothers by developing a program to aid with pregnancy prevention, in addition to providing them with resources to help them excel and succeed.

Our goal is to motivate, equip, and serve individuals in the community to reach their fullest potential and meet their goals.

And we do this with Love.

  • “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Our Mission

Our mission is to address and decrease mental health struggles by giving clinical tools, resources, outlets, and supports for the youth to excel. Live in Love Community Service desires to be a valued and respected mental health organization that also offers outlets to reduce risks of out of home placement.

Live in Love Community Service has infused the gardening initiative for all children and adolescents receiving intensive in-home counseling services to teach how gardening relates to life, reduces stress and anxiety, and improves mental clarity.

Live in Love will also begin the R.E.A.C.O. Project through The Live in Love Foundation, Inc.

Reaching and Empowering Through the Arts and Community Outreach (R.E.A.C.O.) is what we plan to do in the near future through providing at-risk children and adolescents with outlets and opportunities to participate and showcase their talents through dancing, singing, acting, poetry, and arts.

We believe that with our clinical services, along with opportunities to sharpen and showcase their natural talents and interests, negative and risky behaviors will decrease, and individuals will remain in their homes.

What Makes Us Different

We have a gardening initiative and performing arts initiative. Every child/adolescent will be provided seeds/plants of their choice to nurture and grow. We have also partnered with Cradock Garden for individuals to tend to the plants and produce. Gardening is proven to reduce stress and anxiety.

The performing arts initiative is R.E.A.C.O. Project (Reach and Empowering through the Arts and Community Outreach). The R.E.A.C.O. Performing Arts Company served the Hampton Roads Community from 2003 until 2007, serving underserved communities to provide a platform for children to showcase their talents and gifts through plays and productions. Live in Love Community Service will continue to provide a platform for children and adolescents to showcase their talent through video content production.

We focus on improving one’s self-esteem, identity, emotional intelligence, and decision-making skills.

We believe in loving yourself first.
